“This is my first Career Day hosted by Indigo to SGX, and even though I’ve been quite STEM-oriented and interested in finance, I feel like one thing that has really stood out to me after being exposed to the finance industry, is the connections.”
Leonard,
YIJC

“I learnt the most from asking different questions during the networking session. It helped me gain insights and understand personal perspectives from the professionals who worked in the different departments.”
Isabelle,
RVHS

“What I learned is the different kind of journeys each of the lawyers [at TSMP] had while trying to become a lawyer themselves, the different sectors in law, as well as the general experiences while studying and working in law.”
Anna,
JPJC

“One key takeaway I have from today’s sharing session at SGX would be that SGX group was not just an exchange for the Singapore stock market, but they also specialised in six different areas. That surprised me, as this was different from my prior impression of SGX but I know that they do a lot more than what appears on the surface.”
Ryan,
HCI

“I’ve always been interested in law, and it was very nice and insightful to see what a lawyer does from their perspective, what they do in their lives [as a career] and what they did to land in this career. I also learned a lot more about their [job] environment and how they work.”
Veada,
TMJC

“One thing I learnt from Indigo’s Career Day at PwC is how an auditing firm, which is part of the big four accounting firms globally, works, and I have a better understanding of its main services in advisory, tax and assurance. It was good opportunity to get in touch with those working there to network as an undergraduate student entering a business course.”
Nathanelle,
HCI

“I enjoyed the opportunity to talk with the professionals during the Career Day at EY-Parthenon as I managed to gain a lot of first-hand insights about the industry from them. A major takeaway from the Career day was learning that the major that you take in university should not be something that limits you. As a student, the Career Day was most useful in exposing me to a possible career option, as it’s hard to get such a chance to have close interactions with practicing professionals in the field.”
Wan Kee,
HCI

“The speakers shared their personal antidotes and talked about the different avenues they chose to get into law which was very helpful. They also talked about the different career pathways and the forms of career progression in different firms. It deepened my understanding for the different kinds of law like litigation or corporate law. They talked about the different tradeoffs they make from day to day basis and it was really insightful.”
Charmine,
RI

“The Career Day at Tower Capital Asia has truly been an eye-opening experience for me. Through the sharing by the team, I learnt more about the finance sector as a whole, as well as the different sectors in the industry such as private equity — which TCA specialised in — and investment banking. I learnt about the different career paths the professionals took to get to where they are now today and tips for what we can pursue in future in order to achieve our desired career. I also had the chance to connect with like-minded students from Indigo outside if class. Thakn you Indigo and TCS for providing me with this irreplaceable opportunity!”
Ming Yin,
NYJC
