What is the difference between structured lesson and personalised learning (PL)?

In a structured lesson, students can expect to learn in a traditional classroom setting. Structured lessons are for students who prefer learning systematically through our tried-and-tested pedagogy. Tutors will adhere to a fixed lesson plan of teaching, then reviewing students’ understanding through practices. Students in structured lessons may also book free 1-to-1 consultation sessions with us, should they require additional guidance.

Personalised learning (PL) classes are perfect for students who require greater individual attention and will to like learn and grow at their own pace. In a PL class, the tutor devotes his full attention to a small number of students, one at a time, such that students individual needs and concerns are addressed. Tutors are also able to pinpoint weaknesses and provide personalised analyses and feedback to students.

What are the replacement options if I miss a class?

Designed for the busy student to prevent accumulation of deficit in learning, our flexible replacement classes are a breeze for students. We offer multiple time slots for the same subject, within the same week, with consistent notes and teaching structure across all centres. You can also enjoy the convenience of attending a replacement class from the comfort of your own home and watch the in-class recorded lesson at your own pace, allowing you to revise topics at your preferred pace.

What is the usual class size for structured lesson?

At Indigo, we understand that every student’s learning preferences are unique. Each term is divided into learning stages to help pace students’ progress and enable them to achieve peak performance where it matters. Our structured lesson class sizes will vary all the time as students are always doing make-up in another class. We expect weekday classes to be smaller than weekend classes. There is no need to be concerned about the class being too big and students getting distracted, as our lessons have been primed to be captivating even to larger groups. Even in a larger class setting, our tutors will constantly walk around the class, inspect students’ workings, and have chats with them to check their progress. If you are an early riser, try our 7am lessons, the only sun-riser regular class in Singapore!

What is the usual class size for personalised learning (PL)?

Personalised learning classes are much smaller, up to a maximum of 6 students per class. This is to ensure that each student receives the individual attention that they need for maximum learning.

What is your lesson structure for General Paper?

Designed to enrich the learning experience with different perspectives and styles, each lesson is taught by two specialised GP teachers focusing on Paper 1 & 2. We ensure a comprehensive coverage across all topics and encourage flexible thinking and application in line with the new GP syllabus. Learn to apply Indigo’s trademarked critical thinking structures for essay writing and answering techniques instead of memorising model essays.

What is the withdrawal process at Indigo?

Fees are collected on a term basis. Students may submit a withdrawal form 4 lesson weeks before the term ends and the deposit will be refunded to your bank account. There will be no refund for any unutilised lessons weeks.
