What to do after the PSLE exams: Sharpen your critical thinking with Netflix and Read!

The PSLE is finally over! So, what’s next? For most Primary 6 students, the past year has been an intense season of study, revision, and preparation, all leading up to that major milestone exam. Now that it’s behind them, many may find themselves in a post-PSLE lull, unsure of how to spend their time. This is the perfect moment to relax, recharge, and explore new ways of unwinding. Instead of only binging on shows, why not binge on books too? Netflix and Read is the perfect way to unwind while still keeping your imagination alive — where stories leap off the page just like your favourite series.

Here’s how you can sharpen your critical thinking skills with books and shows!

Step 1: Read the book first so you can comprehend the plot and interpret the story in your own way first.

Step 2: Watch the screen adaptation (e.g. movie, miniseries, TV series) next to enjoy the visual interpretation and flow. Develop critical thinking by spotting what’s been changed or left out in the adaptation!

Step 3: Revisit key book sections or summaries to reflect on the differences and form your own opinions.

Step 4: Write a short review to compare both!
