Struggling with the Demands of Upper Sec IP

The transition to Upper Secondary in the Integrated Programme (IP) is both challenging and critical. At Indigo Education Group, we understand the unique demands that Upper Sec IP students face—intense competition, tougher subjects, and the need for higher-level thinking.

On top of this, students know that the journey to A-Level success begins here, and laying strong foundations in Upper Sec IP is essential for thriving in Junior College. Without a firm grasp of key concepts now, gaps in understanding start to widen, making the A-Level transition even more daunting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Would 1-on-1 tuition be a better option if I’m looking for a fully customised programme?
Not necessarily. Indigo’s customised programmes offer more than just individual attention—they’re designed with two key focuses in mind: helping students achieve short-term success in their IP school assessments and building a strong foundation for their long-term A-Level goals. As pioneers in IP tuition, we bring unparalleled expertise, with a large base of IP students and a deep understanding of how each school’s syllabus differs.

Our experienced teachers have access to extensive resources and insights gained from working with a wide cohort, allowing them to identify common blind spots and provide targeted support that’s both immediate and future-focused. With Indigo, your child benefits from a customized approach grounded in the big picture, ensuring they’re well-prepared for each stage of their academic journey.
Which Indigo IP tutor is best for my child’s school?
At Indigo, we don’t operate on an agency model where tutors work independently. Instead, our tutors collaborate closely as part of a highly structured team, receiving weekly training to ensure consistency in lesson delivery and a deep understanding of each student’s goals. Our tutors are placed in classes where they can achieve the most effective results, and their performance is continuously monitored based on student improvement and outcomes.

When you sign up for Indigo tuition, you’re not just getting an individual tutor—you’re accessing the collective expertise of an entire department. Our systems and curriculum have been carefully crafted by experienced educators to align with IP standards and meet the unique needs of each school’s syllabus. This means your child benefits from the full support of Indigo’s collaborative team, working together to help them succeed.
How do you support students in project work and alternative assessments?

At Indigo, we do not provide direct assistance with project work or alternative assessments. These assessments are designed to encourage independent learning and skill development, and we believe it’s valuable for students to go through this process on their own to build the intended soft skills. However, the critical thinking skills, structured approaches, and strong conceptual understanding that students develop at Indigo enhance their ability to approach these projects with confidence and independence. Our focus remains on ensuring academic rigor for weighted assessments, school exams, and ultimately, A-Level national exams, equipping students with the discipline and knowledge they need for success in all aspects of their academic journey.

How does Indigo handle different assessment schedules across schools?

At Indigo, we understand that each IP school has its own assessment timeline, and we stay updated on these schedules to adapt our teaching pace accordingly. This ensures that students are well-prepared for their specific school exams. In past years, we have even provided special packages, assessments, and quizzes—at no additional cost—to help students reinforce their learning and tackle school-specific exams with confidence. Our goal is to ensure every student receives the targeted support they need, exactly when they need it, to excel in their assessments.

How will I know if my child is progressing?

At Indigo, we keep parents consistently informed about their child’s progress. Every week, we share updates on the learning objectives covered in class, so you’re always aware of what your child is working on. For content-heavy subjects, we conduct topical mini-tests to identify and address any learning gaps immediately. Additionally, each term, we run a comprehensive exam-grade assessment to ensure students have mastered the term’s content. We share the results of these assessments with parents, and students are also taught how to analyze their performance, helping them understand areas for improvement and celebrate their successes. This ongoing feedback loop keeps you engaged in your child’s academic journey and ensures they’re on track for success.

How are parents involved in their child’s learning journey with Indigo?

At Indigo, we believe in a strong parent-teacher-student partnership to ensure clear focus and alignment. Before each term begins, our subject heads share the scheme of work and outline how parents can support their child’s learning in the term to prevent any gaps. We guide both parents and students on the most effective study techniques to reinforce learning. Additionally, we keep parents informed of the latest educational trends and insights through our seminars, empowering you to stay engaged and supportive throughout your child’s academic journey.

Do you offer free trial lessons?

Yes, we are currently offering a limited-time free trial! Normally, a trial lesson costs $109, but between November 17 and December 9, during our term break, you can experience Indigo’s teaching at no charge. This exclusive period also allows you to gain a head start, experience our quality notes, meet our teachers and discuss the syllabus in a dedicated 15-minute session following the trial, giving you the opportunity to understand our approach and how we tailor our curriculum to your child’s needs. Don’t miss this chance to get a firsthand look at the Indigo difference!
